Every once in a while, a death beam will come out of the two, connecting them and dealing enough damage to instantly kill you to any player in the beam. Also, two shadow orbs circle around the edges of the stage. In the shadow realm, Halion still has his breath and Mark of Combustion, but they do shadow damage instead of fire damage. Halion shifts to the shadow realm, and summons a portal which players can use to enter as well. Players afflicted have to move to the edge of the stage then get the debuff removed, before running back to the raid.

#Halion loot table Patch
When the debuff ends or when it is removed, a patch forms under the player's feet that deals damage to players in it. He also puts a debuff on random players called Mark of Combustion. All players must move away from the flames that spread from the patch. Any player under it must move out before the fireball hits. The location where the fireball will hit is indicated by a hellfire graphic. He also summons fireballs, which fall from the sky and hit a large area with fire damage, leaving a patch of flame where it hit, as well as four flames going in the four directions out of the fire patch. Unlike most dragon bosses, he does not have a tail swipe or cleave. However, seeing that the Cataclysm event is *potentially* being kicked off with this raid (maybe more), it shows Blizzard definitely has plans - big plans.Halion has three phases, in which the raid must switch between the physical realm and the shadow realm.Ī few seconds after being engaged, Halion summons a wall of flame in a circle around him, closing off any players not in the stage. But, I felt the Lich King (Arthas) got a fitting end to his story. It was a great storyline, with lots of twists and turns, and moments of despair. We praise the storyline WotLK brought us - and rightfully so. Honestly, I would not be surprised at all if the other 3 Sanctums opened with a dungeon or raid between now and Cataclysm, as a result of continued Black Dragonflight aggression. However, with the advent of the Cataclysm on the horizon, the Black Dragonflight seems real intent on keeping us in the snow a little longer - to buy their master time, no doubt. The Scourgewar is over, and Arthas lies dead. The interview with Chilton raised my hopes - and now look.Īnyway. I'd like to say "Called it".Įver since those fake 3.1 notes "leaked" all those months ago, I'd been a firm believer that this would happen one day. Hopefully the Wyrmrest Accord will be a major player in the Cataclysm storyline and in the efforts against Deathwing.įirst off. I still think that we will see the others open up in future expansions to keep people coming to Northrend, especially with many dragon-related plotlines in our future.

I wrote about it here as speculation for patch 3.2 speculation long ago and also pushed the idea when I was on the WoWInsider show. I have long held the opinion that the Chamber of the Aspects would play a role in raid content for a long time.

It also is a different plotline than what we have seen in Wrath and doesn't undermine The Lich King or ICC. It leads well into Cataclysm, sets the stage for the Black and Twilight dragonflights as the bad guys, and preserves the Red Dragons as the good guys (lord knows I don't want to see Alexstrasza succumb to some ailment like the Emerald Nightmare, knoweldge of her own demise, or other madness).

I think a lot of people had suspicions that the new raid content would be frivolous, but this sounds like a proper raid dungeon.
